Job Description / Duties

The Interim Head of Props is responsible for efficiently locating, purchasing, building, manipulating, and maintaining props/set decorations for Globe Theatre 2022 mainstage season. This shall be done within a prescribed budget and timeframe as determined in consultation with the Technical Director and Director of Production. The Interim Head of Props will efficiently communicate with Props/Set designers, directors, and the stage management teams to ensure timely delivery of rehearsal and performance props. Due to the smaller scale and size of the 2021-2022 productions, the Interim Head of Props should also expect to work with other departments (such as set construction) and will be expected to complete other duties as assigned.

The Interim Head of Props should have a valid Driver’s License. Access to a vehicle is an asset.

Reporting to the Director of Production for all human resource matters and to the Technical Director for all technical matters, this position works closely with all members of the production department.

All personnel are required to participate in a wide range of activities and, on occasion, take on additional responsibilities that may be outside of the core responsibilities for each position. Notwithstanding, core responsibilities for this position include but may not be limited to the following:
1. Representing the Globe Theatre while working with Artists to realize the designs in conjunction with the production team;
2. Work with the production team to ensure that all props needs for productions are met while adhering to time, staffing, and budget requirements;
3. Attend the run for lights, technical and dress rehearsals, and previews, for main stage productions as required;
4. Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings and production meetings as outlined in the production calendar;
5. Using the budget tracking, petty cash, credit card, and purchase order systems; track, code, and submit invoices, receipts, petty cash, and credit card reconciliations for all props-related purchases in a timely manner;
6. Other duties as may be assigned by the Technical Director/ Director of Production.

This position is a temporary, full time position. The Interim Head of Props will be hired from the week of February 6, 2022 through April 30, 2022. Compensation is $28.17 per hour, with a minimum of 35 hours per week as per the IATSE 295 agreement.

Please note due to the unpredictability of COVID-19, this position is currently Interim.
When Globe is able to offer more stable, permanent employment this position will be re-posted as a permanent position.

Salary: 28.17 per hour
