Additional Information

Theatre Junction GRAND technicians work under a collective bargaining agreement with Local 212 of IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees). Remuneration includes health benefits and RRSP.

The Flanagan Theatre (main theatre) employs a 64 motor rigging system with custom built controller to operate a series of truss overhead. A combination of truss sizes makes up 4 large boxes over the audience and 14 line sets + 2 “german” line sets over the stage. The Stage department also has several sizes and colours of Marley dance floors as well as a large number of 4’x8' and 3’x8' stage decks that can be deployed at various heights. Various sets of legs, borders, and german masking are regularly employed in different configurations on the stage and the theatre also features two different traveller curtains/tracks as well as a large PVC cyclorama. Other soft goods include other sizes and colours of cycloramas and scrims. Overhead focusing and rigging is perfumed via the theatre’s two sizes of genie man lifts. Additionally the theatre features fully collapsable and customizable seating by Audience Systems. Scenic carpentry is limited in house but small set builds happen occasionally. While most of the rigging is quite standard there is the occasional call for more advanced rigging systems to be employed as complicated as “olio” style rigging and beyond. In rare cases temporary counterweight fly systems have been setup. Working with the resident company of artists you'll work on approximately one original creation per season.
