This is a Permanent, Part-time position.
Category: DesignSummary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
Act as the stage manager, lighting operator, and sound operator on any given show in the three theatres
Provide a safe and clean environment for staff, students and clients to work in
Work with staff members to help clients produce their show with professional, courteous, and effective technical support in a timely manner
Set-up, strike and attend conference events in the Rozsa Centre
Perform minor maintenance to equipment
Enter accurate data regarding any show, including show report, time sheet, and materials charged
Work with the Manager of Theatre Services on any given task
Attend any staff or client meetings as required
Qualifications / Requirements:
Knowledge of lighting, sound, staging, and conference equipment
Must be physically fit enough to climb ladders and lift heavy objects
Able to work under stressful conditions and meet constant deadlines
Able to communicate with staff and clients in a professional manner, as the role will deal with a variety of clients including musicians, actors, and dancers
Background in the theatrical community is an asset
Understanding of safety practices and first aid is strongly encouraged
Basic computer skill level with the ability to work in word processing and spreadsheet programs
Ability to pay attention to multiple overlapping deadlines
