Your opportunity:
Under the general direction of the Director of Hospitality Services, the AV & Collaborative Technology Coordinator develops and implements a comprehensive and integrated AV and digital program that supports and fosters the broader strategic and business objectives of Hart House. The incumbent is responsible for the coordination of technological solutions, programs, and services that meet the needs of a diverse community of constituents that includes students, internal partners, faculty, staff, alumni, and the wider GTA community. The AV & Collaborative Technology Coordinator takes a client-focused approach in working with these constituents, demonstrating inclusive behaviours and enthusiastically sharing knowledge about the equipment, technologies, programs and services that will meet our clients’ needs. Grounded in these principles, the AV & Collaborative Technology Coordinator will build, develop,and mentor a team of AV/ CT technicians in a supportive, positive way and keep the team moving towards a shared goal of providing superlative support and service through AV and digital solutions.

As we look towards resuming in-person gatherings, hybrid events will offer a new area of exploration and innovation for Hospitality Services as we strive to support our constituents. The AV & Collaborative Technology Coordinator will be a key contributor to the development of this portfolio of services, providing recommendations to the Director on cutting-edge equipment and applications to support a wide range of events.

Your responsibilities will include:
Keeping well-informed on current technologies, best practices and industry standards
Conducting needs assessments to determine end-user technical requirements
Testing and analyzing new and upgraded software and/or hardware
Implementing a rollout plan for new audio-visual technologies
Tracking service metrics to inform continuous service improvements
Providing orientation to others on work procedures and practices
Directing the activities of casual staff
Coordinating the booking and delivery of classroom audio-visual equipment with contacts

Qualifications / Required Skills

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience in live audio-visual programming and digital event strategy.
Minimum three years audio/video production experience in an events management setting, working directly with clients and end users.
Minimum three years experience directing the activities of casual staff including scheduling and assigning work.
Strong knowledge of administrative systems, including MS Office Suite and Microsoft 365.
Exceptional knowledge in video and audio conference software such as MS Teams, Zoom, etc.
Advanced computer skills in Windows and MAC, including learning management systems, iTunes, streaming video, and various devices that users may employ.
Demonstrated success working in collaborative environment with a team mindset.
Proven ability to work independently and co-operatively on a team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to relate well with students, internal partners, and clients.
Excellent customer service skills are essential.
Outstanding organizational and time management and multi-tasking skills required.
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle high-pressure situations, with on-the-fly thinking.
Enthusiast and innovative contributor to future planning for new and existing services.
Strong administrative and organizational skills; accuracy and attention to detail.
Proven ability to prioritize a large volume of work in a fast-paced, high performance team environment.
Ability to apply a high degree of tact and sensitivity to daily activities.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in all work responsibilities and in collaborative workplace practices.
Excellent negotiation skills.

Assets (Nonessential):
Knowledge of media production.

USW Pay Band 10 -- $61,846 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $79,088. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
