Pre-conference Workshop: 1.5 day Vectorworks Fundamentals & Spotlight

CITT/ICTS in collaboration with Vectorworks is offering 1.5 day Vectorworks training course prior to the CITT/ICTS Annual Conference and Trade Show. 

Location: Computer Lab at the Yukon College adjacent to Yukon Arts Centre

Day 1: Vectorworks Fundamentals

Monday August 12 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Description: This course will cover the fundamentals of using Vectorworks, including User Interface, File navigation, 2D drawing techniques, 3D modelling basics, key aspects of Document set up and Preferences, and a look at Resources. This is an essential foundation for using the Spotlight-specific portions of the application.

Duration: 1/2 day
 
Prerequisites: Basic computer use, basic drafting conventions or experience with another CAD application.

Day 2: Intro to Vectorworks Spotlight

Tuesday August 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Description: This course will cover the basics of using Vectorworks Spotlight for the creation of a simple theatre venue and show design. Topics covered will include importing a base plan, creating a venue with seating, adding scenic elements on stage, the basics of Spotlight lighting, creating hanging positions and adding lighting instruments and accessories, focusing instruments and adding Label Legends, generating presentation views.

Duration: Full day

Prerequisite: Fluency with navigating the Vectorworks interface and all material & prerequisites covered in the Fundamentals course.
