Course Description:

Special Effect Pyrotechnics (Type F.3) are high-hazard pyrotechnics articles designed for use by professionals. These articles include items such as Gerbs, Mines, and Comets. These articles would be used in theatre productions, concerts and on film sets. Completion of the Pyrotechnics Safety and Legal Awareness Course is mandatory prior to certification as Pyrotechnician - Fireworks/Operator by ERD.

The Explosives Regulatory Division (ERD) of Natural Resources Canada regulates theatrical pyrotechnics and issues Fireworks Operator certificates. An ROT will be issued at the conclusion of the course. To obtain certification applicants must send a copy of the ROT, a picture and $100 to ERD. All of this will be explained on the day.
