Introduction to the Basics of Arena Rigging and Bridle Dynamics
An introduction to the materials, equipment, and methods used to safely hang equipment overhead. Students will learn the proper usage of common rigging materials, how to read and understand floor markings, and some basic approaches to calculating bridles to achieve accurate and safe results.
Date: Friday, August 15, 2025 - The same session will be held twice on that day.
Time: Morning session: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm AT | Afternoon session (repeat session): 1 pm - 5 pm AT
Where: Dalhousie Arts Centre / Fountain School of Performing Arts - Small Studio #3015
Cost: $15 per person. All proceeds go to SWAG Bingo.

About the Instructors
Scott McRae, lATSE Local 680 member
Scott McRae is a member of IATSE Local 680 with over 30 years of experience in both live entertainment and motion picture. A member since 1994, Scott has worked extensively throughout the Atlantic provinces and North America. Scott is currently the Technical Director at Imperial Theatre in Saint John, NB.
Jason Vergnano, IATSE International Representative
Jason Vergnano is an International Representative of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), based in Montreal, Quebec. A member of the IATSE for over 25 years, Jason comes from a stagecraft background specializing in arena and theatrical rigging and has toured throughout North America and Europe. Jason served as the Business Agent of IATSE local 56 for 7 years before joining the IATSE International's Canadian staff. Among Jason's many responsibilities, is assisting IATSE locals with training initiatives and craft-based skills development through the IATSE Entertainment and Exhibition Industries Training Trust Fund.
