Job Description / Duties

The Role:

As the Production Coordinator you will be responsible for ensuring that production and technical elements are met for all shows and events on the stage, studio, lobbies, and exterior spaces.

Your tasks are to be developed as your role grows but for a start, you complete various tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

● Managing the crew, IATSE Local 357 (supervision and monitoring daily production activities)
● Production management (during event set-up, resolving problems when they arise)
● Assist the Production Manager with scheduling and advance planning of events as needed
● Communicate and liaise with rental clients
● Leading the CITS Inc. team through collaborating with fellow staff members and supervising various departments as needed
● Communicating relevant information to senior management
● Planning and controlling for anticipated problems
● Identifying areas of improvement through the creation of debriefs following events

Qualifications / Required Skills

The Ideal Candidate:

You have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in theatre and/or production management within a not-for-profit organization, and you have:

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● The ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment with competing priorities
● A collaborative and approachable person
● Have experience and training working at heights
● In depth knowledge of stage management and technical aspects of theatre production including audio, lighting, rigging and staging
● The ability to problem solve
● Have a passion for working in the performing arts
● Experience working in a roadhouse

You possess the ability to work independently and have a great work ethic. You demonstrate interest in growth and development within this position as experience builds and the company grows. You have the ability to be flexible, fluid, adaptable and can influence and motivate others across functional boundaries. You are not afraid to address difficult issues to improve performance while working under pressure.

Additional Information

What We Offer

Compensation: $50,000 - $57,000 per year
Benefits: Participation in OMERS pension plan as well as a generous group benefits plan.

This is a full-time, on-site, permanent position based in beautiful Downtown Kitchener. You’ll enjoy significant growth in both responsibility and total rewards.

You will be working 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

Salary: $50,000 - $57,000
