1-Day Pre-conference Workshop: ETC Eos Console Overview

OPEN TO ALL - ETC’s Ion Xe lighting console provides simple and approachable programming and control for conventional systems as well as fully integrated lighting rigs. Join us in Halifax to learn more about the features and functions of this amazing control system.

CITT/ICTS is teaming up with ETC's Education Centre to bring this console training to the Halifax area and Rendez-vous participants - Don't miss this unique opportunity!

Date: Wednesday, August 13, 2025
Time: 9 am – 5 pm AT, with a one-hour lunch break and two small breaks. Lunch and snacks are on your own.
Where: Dalhousie Arts Centre - David Mack Murray Studio (Studio 1), Room #163.

There are a total of 8 seats for each day. We have 4 consoles with 2 people seated at each console.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. When the class is full, you can add your name to a waitlist. If we have anyone cancel, you will be notified of the available seat.

Class will be taught on an Ion Xe console, but is appropriate for all Eos family consoles (Element, Element 2, Ion, Ion Xe, Gio, Gio@5, Eos, Eos Ti and Apex).

This pre-conference workshop is OPEN TO ALL. You don't need to be registered for Rendez-vous to participate.


Course Information

ETC Eos Console Overview (One-Day Class)

This class will provide an overview of the console and programming for conventional fixtures as well as movers and LED fixtures. Whether transitioning to an Eos family console or a new console owner, this class will teach the basics to get the programmer up and running with this versatile console.

After completing the class, one should be able to:

  • Understand the display layouts and workspaces
  • Patch conventional and multi-parameter fixtures
  • Record and recall Snapshots
  • Work with channels in Live mode
  • Control non-intensity parameters at a basic level
  • Record, select, and delete Groups
  • Record to, load, and clear Submasters
  • Record and recall Palettes
  • Set up and use Direct Selects
  • Record, play back, and delete Cues
  • Understand Tracking versus Cue Only as well as Block and Assert
  • Use Park efficiently
  • Evaluate and make changes in Setup
  • Create simple step-based effects 
  • Create and use a basic Magic Sheet

Daily Schedule

Please arrive before 9:00am to check in and get settled.

          9:00 AM – Class starts

          10:30 AM – Short Break

          12:00 to 1:00 PM – Break for lunch

          1:00 PM – Resume class

          2:30 PM – Short Break

          4:00 to 5:00 PM – Class will end depending on overall class pace. 

Additional Information

ETC is a recognized training provider for the ETCP program. If you are currently a certified ETCP Electrician, you can receive one renewal credit per training hour. Please bring your ETCP number with you to training.

Minors (17 and under) must be accompanied by a parent or adult chaperone.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your registration for this event, please do so at least 48 hours in advance of the event's start date. If you cancel at least 48 hours in advance, you will be offered a refund or transfer to a future class. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the event will not be refunded. Please contact the ETC Education Center if you need to cancel your registration.
