Category: ManagementAn employee in this title has responsibility for oversight in technical event staffing at various events, including, but not limited to concerts, corporate and trade shows, television, theater, sporting events etc. The work involves sourcing staff, handling all administrative details and overseeing venues as needed. In addition the incumbent may have responsibility for payroll and accounts payable and receivable duties. This title differs from Labor-manager in that the Labor-Manager normally has a higher and broader level of responsibility. It is the policy of PRG to provide excellent customer service both internally and externally. Employees are expected to perform all of their duties and responsibilities in accordance with this policy at all times. Does related work as required.
Essential Functions
Depending on the venue, client and /or event, creates and submits detailed labor estimates based on the clients requirements for number of persons by position and estimated number of hours and days required.
Staffing - Utilizes, if available, client-preferred crew lists first. Filling in the balance of the crew with the most qualified employees available; when a job is awarded submit requests to Unions for requesting personnel.
Resolves crew issues, verifying requirements for each day, confirming availability of crew and increase or decrease staff size as necessary.
Interprets work rules, conditions and benefits and creates rates to include all monetary requirements due employee, benefits, taxes and insurances relevant to the State in which the event will occur, and add profit factor to establish client rate then apply those rates to estimate.
Advises the sales person/project manager/client of contractual compliance requirements and the financial impact and compiles, calculates and processes hours per show, including appropriate splits for billing purposes.
Provides the client with daily running totals of labor cost.
Contacts union local, if required, to obtain a one-off agreement.
Processes accident reports as needed on Worker’s Comp Claims.
May use computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word
processing, calendar, e-mail and database software and proprietary PRG software in performing work assignments.
May perform other incidental tasks, as needed.
May be on call as needed evenings or weekends.
Two years of experience supporting Labor Staffing in an entertainment environment
Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
Advanced scheduling experience
Demonstrated experience in booking travel
Education
Graduation from High School or possession of an equivalency diploma
One of the above years of specialized experience may be substituted with one year of successful full-time college education
College Degree preferred
Other Requirements
Knowledge: Good knowledge of the principles and practices of show staffing; working knowledge of accounting and payroll practices and procedures
Skills: Excellent communication skills; skill in negotiating rates
Abilities: Ability to multitask effectively in a fast paced changing environment; ability to oversee the work of others; ability to understand and utilize complex payroll information
