Globe Theatre is looking for a full time seasonal Head of Sound, with a start date of August 24st, 2015, to
coordinate, implement, and oversee all sound elements for productions produced and presented by the
Reporting to the Technical Director and Director of Production, this position works closely with Directors,
Sound Designers, Composers and production staff while directly supervising any casual labor assigned to the
sound crew. In fulfilling this position’s core responsibilities, Globe Theatre expects the Head of Sound to:
Coordinate and run all sound installs, cueing sessions, setups and strikes
Be the Sound Operator for all Main Stage productions and special events
Be technically proficient with analogue and digital mixing consoles, effects processors, sound equalization,
and in microphone selection and usage
Be able to source sound effects and music
Be able to effectively communicate and correspond with Sound Designers, Composers and other
members of the projection department
Have strong time management skills and be able to work towards a deadline
Have the ability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and Stat Holidays
Attend all staff and production meetings and be a member of the Health & Safety Committee if required
Adhere to all aspects of the Collective Agreement between Globe Theatre and I.A.T.S.E. Local 295.
The individual in this position must enjoy working collaboratively in addition to having superior interpersonal,
project coordination, and problem solving skills. The Successful candidate must be experienced with QLab and
Pro Tools software, and have the ability to record and mix live music. The knowledge and use of wireless mics
and communications systems will be an important part of this position as well.
