Prepare and deliver lectures on dance production (with consideration to sustainable practice), safety standards, and procedures. Oversee assignment and grading of crew hours in Dance Department productions.
Assume the role of Production Manager and Director of Design for all Department curricular performances. Coordinate and train the student crew members to ensure industry standards of safety and accepted working practices are consistently met. Be responsible for the recruitment and management of other team members, including Lighting Designers and Stage Managers. This may involve monitoring of students in these roles, coordinating professionals hired to work in these roles, and/or the execution of lighting designs produced by creative team members. Submit final grades in April. Maintain regular office hours.
MFA or professional equivalent, demonstrated experience in production management and lighting design at the professional level. Minimum of 2 years post-secondary teaching experience. Must be familiar with `Professional Working Practice' and `Industry Safety Standards'.
Preference will be given to applicants with new media, and digital technology experience, particularly with regard to online teaching modalities (i.e., Moodle).
Salary: As per current CUPE Collective Agreement
