July 2-4 and 8-11, 2010
Edmonton, Alberta

For 50 years Dramaworks has encouraged the growth of Alberta’s theatre enthusiasts, explorers and professionals—veteran and emerging. Dramaworks 2010 offers the opportunity to discover and release your untapped creative energy. Branch out in ways you never before imagined; explore the art you love in these workshops taught by leading practitioners in the industry:
  • Let’s Get Technical! with Jon Price: Create magical moments onstage using backstage ingenuity! Learn the ins and outs of manual and motorized fly systems, automated scenery, and scenery/personnel lifts. Suitable for producers, designers, technicians, and artists—no experience necessary.
  • Safety First—Demystifying Best Practices for Theatre Safety with Graham Frampton: Based on Theatre Alberta’s Safe Stages program, this hands-on workshop will educate participants on best practices for working safely in a theatre production environment. Suitable for managers, technicians, artists, and theatre volunteers. All levels of experience are welcome.
Dramaworks 2010 takes place at the University of Alberta (Edmonton) from July 2-4 and 8-11. Classes range from $235 to $335—register before May 28th to receive an early bird discount. Don’t miss out on the Alberta theatre community’s preeminent professional development and networking opportunity! For more information or to register contact Theatre Alberta at 780 422-8162 or toll free at 1 888 422-8160 or visit Dramaworks 2010 online.
