What's New > ESAC Now Has a French Name: Introducing ACPRE
![]() |
As the Event Safety Alliance Canada continues to grow across the country, one thing has become increasingly clear: advancing event safety in Canada means reaching communities in the language and context that reflect their reality.
That is why we are proud to introduce our French name: Alliance canadienne pour la prévention des risques événementiels (ACPRE).
This is more than a translation. It reflects who we are, who we serve, and how we engage with professionals across Canada.
Canada’s event industry is diverse, and so are the communities that shape it. Francophone professionals play an essential role in the sector, in Québec and across the country. By adopting a French identity, ACPRE reinforces our commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and meaningful engagement in both official languages.
Language plays a critical role in safety. In high-pressure environments, clarity and precision are essential. Providing resources, training, and discussions in English and French helps ensure that key information is not only understood, but actionable.
The name ACPRE was carefully chosen. It reflects prevention, risk awareness, and a proactive approach to event safety, all central to ESAC’s mission. It also resonates with the realities of the field, where anticipating and mitigating risks are at the heart of every successful event.
Our mission remains the same: to strengthen event safety across Canada by promoting knowledge sharing, practical tools, professional collaboration, and a strong culture of prevention.
With ACPRE, we aim to:
• expand access to knowledge and best practices in French
• strengthen collaboration with francophone professionals and organizations
• support a truly national conversation around event safety
We would also like to sincerely thank the volunteer members of our francophone committee, Kate Hough, Martin Deslauriers, and Antoine Leblanc-Michel, for their time, commitment, and contribution to the growth of this community.
We invite you to visit our website and follow our social media channels to stay informed about our francophone programming.
This launch marks an important step in building a more inclusive and representative community of practice.
Same mission. Broader reach. Stronger impact.
