What's New > Call for participants - Climate Adaptation Framework for Arts and Culture Organizations
![]() |
Thanks to the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Centre for Sustainable Practice in the Arts is launching a brand new project. The goal of this project is to create, test, and share a framework—a practical guide designed to help arts and culture organizations across Canada plan for and adapt to climate change.
This guide will outline strategies to identify and handle risks from climate-related disasters, such as floods or heatwaves, and support organizations in strengthening their ability to cope with and recover from these challenges. By using this framework, organizations can better prepare for, reduce, and manage these risks while supporting long-term resilience.
They’re seeking representatives from arts and culture organizations located within the political boundaries of what is known as "Canada" to join a collaborative workshop at the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts in Nova Scotia from May 4-8th, 2025, and to implement/test the resulting framework within their organization in Fall 2025. Travel and accommodation to the workshop will be covered and participants will receive a $1,000 honorarium for their time and contributions. The workshop will be run primarily in English, however French language support may be provided, dependent on resource availability. Accessibility requests will be considered on a case by case basis to facilitate participation. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns!
This application form will be open until February 3rd at 11:59pm PST.
