Job Description / Duties

As the Theatre Technician, you will be part of a 4 person team that operates and maintains all theatrical & Event equipment and facilities. NOTE: The College has 3 primary performance spaces. Two on the main campus and one off site at the Fairview Campus. Highway travel is to be expected.

This position also provides specialized leadership in theatrical and event support/production for any and all college related activites.

Expect constant contact with external clients, Fine Art and Business students and public volunteers.

Duties will include/swap between standard Technical and FOH activities.

Qualifications / Required Skills

  • Two years’ post-secondary education in a related field and one year’s related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 
  • A Theatre Technology and/or an Audio/Visual Technology Diploma; with a Pyrotechnician License (Mines and Resources Canada) in good standing are desired. 
  • Candidates must have excellent troubleshooting skills, detailed knowledge of audio, video & lighting systems, and be familiar with theatre related computer applications. 
  • The ideal candidate must be a self starter, a team player, and be able to assume control of an Event when needed. 
  • Good customer services skills and creativity would be valuable assets.

This full-time position will commence as soon as possible.

Salary: $3,597.00 per month.
