Forecasting shop staff needs for prep of audio rentals, coordinating with other dept managers and Operations to make sure the correct amount of warehouse staff are available and allocated.
Ensuring that prep gets started and completed by the warehouse staff as required.
Reviewing equipment quoted for projects in conjunction with our Senior System Engineer, and adding cabling, infrastructure and items needed to ensure each a quoted rental package is a complete working system.
Developing processes and systems for making the storage and prep of audio equipment as efficient as possible, as well as having input on packaging and case design.
Ordering consumable items (batteries, tape, IEM foamies, etc.)
Handling emergency calls from show technicians, specifically with regard to additions to shows.
Testing higher technology equipment (digital consoles, DSP etc.)
Configuring computer systems and software for audio-specific applications (Meyer compass, L-acoustics network manager, etc)
Funnelling equipment in need of service to the Service Technician, and removing it from the inventory while in service, adding it back when repaired.
Responsible for facilitating and tracking non-service dept related repairs and maintenance on audio inventory such as case casters, speaker pins and accessories, stands, etc.
Getting cabling/PA designs from show technicians and entering it into a job on the database system.
Checking upcoming shows for shortages and assisting to resolve them by looking at juggling equipment between shows in coordination with the Senior Systems Engineer.
Interfacing with other Dept. Managers about equipment that falls between departments (feeder, motors etc.)
Highly Organized and Punctual
Good technical understanding of professional live audio systems and equipment including: System Infrastructure, Digital Consoles, Wireless, Speaker Systems etc.
Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Highly computer literate, and a good understanding of computer networking and IP infrastructure.
Willing to work early or late, or on weekends as required.
Post-Secondary education in technical theatre or a related field is an asset but not require
