Ballet Jorgen Canada is looking for a Dance Stage Manager for it's touring 2013/14 Season. Repertoire will include newly created "Mixed Program" ballets, children shows "A World to Shake" and "Velveteen Rabbit", and existing touring ballets "Romeo & Juliet" and "Nutcracker". And in studio and additional performances of excerpts from assorted ballets.
The Stage Manager will work with both professionals and volunteers. A valid drivers licence is a must as the position includes driving a cube van as well as other production vehicles. Touring experience would be an asset. Ability to speak French would also be an asset.
The Stage Manager must be organized and efficient, work well under pressure, have professional experience calling theatrical performances and have a basic knowledge in all fields - carpentry, lighting, sound and fly systems.
The Stage Manager will be required to call shows, create calling scripts and running notes for all productions and coordinate prop & set movements during in studio rehearsals and onstage. The Stage Manager will also be required to do basic prop maintenance.
Full time position from early September 2013 to late April 2014. Ballet Jorgen Canada tours extensively and this season will tour throughout Ontario, Quebec, Western Canada and Eastern Canada including Newfoundland & Labrador.
