The Electronics Technician provides essential testing and repair of all products and components for items manufactured by Spectrum and sold or distributed by AC Lighting in addition to providing escalated client technical support.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct technical repair and component level diagnostics of electronic units, audio-visual, lighting, distribution and computer control equipment.
  • Coach and assist repair technicians in product diagnoses and electronic repairs.
  • Disassemble/assemble units and conduct unit setups.
  • Replace components to test for equipment operation ability.
  • Provide technical information to the customer upon request.
  • Set-up and operate various test equipment and tools to perform simple electrical and continuity testing, to locate circuit and wiring faults, shorts and component defects in items that require repair.
  • General electronics repair, solder and manually assemble various electronic components, and use of digital/analog multi-meter, oscilloscope etc.
  • Install, mount, fasten, align and adjust parts, components, wiring and harnesses subassemblies and assemblies using hand and small power tools.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in regards to repair work for RMA, parts requests, and electronic reworks etc. and ensure repair information is recorded accurately in ERP system.
  • Establish and maintain a spare parts list with recommend quantities.
  • Record issues and report reoccurring issues to the supplier.
  • Support and contribute to product development as appropriate.
  • Repair PCB units for warranty and customer service.
  • Maintain and exercise the use of all operating procedures in your department.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned by your manager.

Qualifications / Required Skills

SKILLS & TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Electronic training in engineering and design or advanced knowledge of digital electronics.
  • 5+ years of working experience in electronics diagnostics and repair.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Advanced technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Operate measuring tools, manual and electronic measuring and testing equipment.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools.
  • Use soldering tools.
  • Detailed oriented
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of computer software and hardware repairs.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and lead teams.
  • Ability to work well independently or as part of a team.

SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of A.C. Lighting products., BIG asset.
  • Technical experience in professional lighting & AV industries.

Additional Information

Hours of operation are typically 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

· Additional hours may be required for Month End closings, Year End, inventory or other such peak periods and/or events.

Salary: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00
