Job Description / Duties

TIFF, a vibrant not-for-profit arts organization, is hiring for the seasonal contract positions of: Seasonal Coordinator, Event Production (two positions available)

TIFF is dedicated to presenting the best of international and Canadian cinema to film lovers in our home TIFF Bell Lightbox. Our aim is to become a creative, community and global leader, and one of the world’s premiere organizations in the discovery and understanding of film. Responsible for production and execution of internally programmed and 3rd party events as assigned.

Responsibilities:
Coordinate TIFF Bell Lightbox internally programmed, 3rd party and festival related events. Coordinate all aspects of event production, including programme/itinerary, audiovisual/technical, front of house, food and beverage/catering, facility, security and other services as events require
Serve as a hub for internal and external event information collection and dissemination
Coordinate on-site production set up and close out events as required
Provide event reports and analysis to the appropriate management member
Assist in preparation of estimates before the reconciliation after events take place
Provide expertise on events to internal departments requiring support
Maintaining and fostering returning or new client and partner relationships throughout the planning and execution of their events
Other duties as assigned related to these objectives

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum Requirements:
University degree, college diploma or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2 years experience in the area of Event Planning and Production of major cultural events
Well developed verbal and written communication skills
Dynamic and outgoing personality with sound judgement and discretion
Professional manner and ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly to changes
Excellent attention to detail, budgets, timelines and objectives
Strong project management skills
Creativity to develop innovative solutions; knowledge of special events trends within the cultural sector
Ability to both work independently and in a team environment as well as the ability to both take and give direction effectively
Understanding and commitment to superior client servicing
Well developed administrative and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage concurrent duties
Well developed interpersonal and public relations skills to interface with senior corporate personnel, TIFF staff, volunteers and other internal and external stakeholders
Adaptable to flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
