Job Description / Duties

We're looking for yet another addition to the AirMagic team.

We're seeking a licensed pyro-technician (There is an ERD Pyro course coming up on October 22) to fill a gap. This person will be guaranteed at least two days a week - plus more shop days as needed, AND onsite production work.

This person will also work EVERY Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM, running our retail and rental counter. This is a very important part of this position and is non-negotiable.

Our last Saturday person worked for us for three years, the one before that for four years. Continuity in this position is critical to our retail and rental operation.

Weekday Duties will include...

Checking in equipment returned fro rentals.
Checking in equipment returning from our shows
Assembling and packing shows going out
Loading and unloading trucks
Handling pyrotechnics and flammables
Carpentry
Electrical and electronics
Bench work
On site work
Pickups and deliveries

Saturday Duties include...

Opening and closing
Demonstrating equipment to rental clients
Counter sales of consumables, etc
Walk-in sales and rentals
Receiving rental returns.

We are seeking a happy, motivated, team player – someone who is comfortable in their own skin, a good communicator, who enjoys interactions with professionals and the public, and has an interest in the behind-the-scene magic of special effects!

Qualifications / Required Skills


Familair with technical theatre
Comfortable at heights
Valid drivers license
Valid Pyrotechnic and/or Display Fireworks license
Experience with propane - TSSA ROT
Fall Arrest training
Aerial Lift training
First Aid training
Knowledge of electricity and electronics

Our ideal candidate is neat and organized, has a proactive attitude and the ability to absorb and retain technical information.
