Job Description / Duties
The Project Coordinator will:
Coordinate course-level production; plan and execute performance festivals and productions (three small performances in Fall-Winter, one full-scale in Winter, a full-scale festival in Spring, individual student thesis projects);
Collaborate with faculty and students to ensure all production elements meet educational standards and objectives;
Coordinate intersections between required DART courses and MainStage productions, including technical production and theatre creation courses;
Facilitate communication and scheduling between course instructors and production teams to optimize resource allocation and student participation;
Support the integration of MainStage productions into the curriculum, enhancing the learning experience for DART majors;
Manage ticket sales for Winter and Spring events, ensuring revenue generation;
Manage group ticket sales for performances targeting non-DART Brock students and high school matinees, identifying opportunities for significant revenue streams;
Develop and maintain relationships with partner theatre companies for Summer Institute WIL courses, ensuring budget-neutral resources through industry professional residencies;
Coordinate DART course elements related to fees for experiential learning activities, ensuring budget neutrality;
Support students in organizing ticketed events within DART spaces;
Manage front-of-house operations for public-facing events, ensuring a positive experience for attendees;
Assist with DART course collection and timetabling, addressing the complexities of experiential learning activities in theatre-making spaces.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Key Skills and Experience:
College Diploma in a related discipline (stage management, technical theatre, event planning, business). The equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered;
Previous administrative and/or project coordination experience;
Understanding of the production process and the various elements involved;
Ability to manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively;
Ability to navigate the complexities of course integration and experiential learning;
Ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners, (theatre companies and community organizations).
Preferred or Asset Skills:
Experience in a production role, (stage manager, production assistant, etc.);
Experience in coordinating projects or events;
Experience in ticket sales, marketing for events, or fundraising initiatives;
Experience in a post-secondary environment.
