Job Description / Duties

Temporary position: approximately 16 months
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be required to:

During the conceptual phase:
 Liaise between creation and production by sharing information from a stage management perspective;
 Encourage communication within the creation team and collate information from a stage management perspective;
 Develop and update the technical storyboard;
 Develop and update training, staging and rehearsal schedules;
 Develop and update the cast breakdown and costumes chart;
 Ensure the accuracy of lists for costumes, props and all other technical equipment, and follow up with all teams concerned;
 Develop the general plans for training, staging and rehearsal, taking into account the needs of the various teams and departments involved (orientation and training, costume fittings, etc.);
 Develop and update the stage management cuesheet;

Also, during training, staging and rehearsal and in preparation for transfer to the operation staff:
 Organize the technical testing of equipment and stage machinery in conjunction with the show’s technical department and design team;
 Supervise the work of the assistant to the Production Stage Manager, particularly with respect to producing artists’ weekly schedules;
 Make sure training, staging and rehearsals run smoothly in accordance with the schedule and priorities;
 Oversee the running of the show during rehearsals, as required;
 Keep track of artists’ rehearsal times;
 Supervise the work of the videographer, manage video recording during rehearsals, ensure recordings are filed and do follow-up;
 Coordinate and lead daily meetings with the creation and production teams during rehearsals;
 Draft and follow up on rehearsal reports and distribute them to the appropriate people on the team;
 Transfer the documents (stage management log, props lists, etc.) required for the show’s smooth operation to the General Stage Manager and his or her team.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• College-level diploma in performing arts or equivalent experience in show production;
• Ten years’ experience in stage management;
• Experience in the creation and running of major shows;
• Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written;
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and proficiency using Excel and PowerPoint;
• Excellent proven communication skills, self-reliance and team spirit;
• Superior organizational and priority-management skills, highly developed sense of initiative and attention to detail;
• Ability to work under pressure and to adapt to change;
• Availability to work irregular hours;
• Availability to travel and work in Las Vegas, Nevada, for approximately six months.

Additional Information

Based in Montreal and Las Vegas

Salary: Starting from 80 000$, with benefits, depending on skills and experience
