Reporting to the Senior Manager, Event Production, the Manager, Event Production will be responsible for the successful management, production and execution of TIFF events as well as support of TIFF programming and the Event Sales team. This position will also oversee staff and volunteers.
Shall include but not be limited to:
Successfully manage 4 direct full-time reports
Project manage year round TIFF Bell Lightbox programming production logistics
Lead the implementation of departmental workflow
Support the production of critical paths and key dates for relevant projects
Oversee the execution of TIFF Bell Lightbox internally programmed, 3rd party and Festival related events
Serve as a hub for internal and external event information collection and dissemination
Ensure team is coordinating all aspects of support required for their events (ie technical, front of house, concessions, ticketing, security, budget, etc. )
Manage team to coordinate on-site production set up and close out events as required
Oversee preparation of materials and inventory required for events team to efficiently execute events
Liaise with other TIFF departments, partners and/or external clients and vendors/suppliers to design, plan, develop requirements, and seek appropriate approvals and permits to ensure a compliant, safe and successful event
Conduct regular staff meetings with direct reports and staff as required
Prepare and monitor budgets and reconcile expenses through TIFF’s budgeting process
Provide event reports and analysis to the appropriate Senior Manager
Supervise and/or oversee the supervision of volunteers or interns as required
Act as an internal resource for Event Planning and Production related best practices
Other related duties as required
University degree, community college diploma or equivalent work experience
Experience managing a team of event professionals
Minimum 4 years experience in the area of Events Planning and Production and/or project management of cultural or special events
Minimum 3 years experience in a Film Festival environment
Strong leadership, and large team management skillsFamiliarity with front-of-house, technical, box office, sponsorship, marketing and communications requirements of large scale events
Well developed verbal and written communication skills
Dynamic and outgoing personality with sound judgement and discretion; professional manner and ‘can do’ attitude
Excellent attention to detail, budgets, timelines and objectives
Strong project management skills; well developed administrative, organization and prioritizing skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment as well as the ability to both take direction and show initiative
Understanding the commitment to superior client servicing
Well developed interpersonal and public relations skills
Experience with office administrative management considered an asset
Experience managing an event venue considered an asset
Excellent computer skills, especially relational databases
Creativity to develop innovative solutions
Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
