Under the supervision of the Technical Director an in collaboration with the Artistic Director, you will be required to ensure that costume items are in good condition and that the original concepts are maintained.

Duties:

- Supervise the wardrobe team;
- Draw up work schedule;
- Evaluate performance of wardrobe assistants yearly;
- Draw up washing schedule for the local dressers;
- Ensure presence backstage of wardrobe employee at all times during shows;
- Interview and hire permanent and local staff;
- Organize training for staff;
- Participate in training of staff;
- Fill and approve employee time sheets;
- Ensure that the tour's costume shop is properly equipped and oversee maintenance of its equipment;
- Prepare and keep track of costume budget;
- Draft, send and receive orders;
- Coordinate and follow up with international headquarters costume shop as regards items priorities and deliveries for new artists coming on tour and regular wear and tear orders;
- Keep the different follow-up databases up to date;
- Manage petty cash;
- Keep ATA carnets up to date;
- Prepare custom documentation for costumes and equipment shipping;
- Prepare monthly credit card report;
- Find local suppliers;
- Prepare city reports;
- Organize artists' dressing rooms and wardrobe area;
- Participate, plan and oversee the efficiency of load-in and load-out;
- Assist in packing and unpacking costumes for safe transport;
- Supervise and take part in daily maintenance of wigs, costumes, shoes, etc.;
- Make costume renewal suggestions to Artistic Director as needed to maintain the production's quality standards;
- Assist designers when they visit tour;
- Oversee the emergency fabrication of costumes and costume items on tour;
- Ensure that costumes and costume items built on tour respect the original concept;
- Prepare costumes and accompany artists at special events;
- Take part in media interviews;
- Supervise and assist artists with make-up.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

- Minimum of four to six years’ relevant experience on large-scale productions;
- Certified diploma in costume design and sewing;
- Three years relevant experience in the arena tour entertainment industry;
- Personnel management experience an asset;
- Ability to handle contingencies and work well under pressure;
- Flexibility, autonomy, team player;
- Good communication skills;
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications in a Windows environment;
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, fluency in French or any language is an asset;
- Work experience in Asia is an asset;
- Knowledge of Mandarin language is an asset;
- Availability to tour full time and work in foreign countries.
