Experience & Qualifications: The successful candidate will have experience in and/or an
understanding of the current Ontario education system, policies and arts curriculum.
Strong research and presentation skills and excellent interpersonal and communication
skills are required (both written and verbal). The ability to write and/or support grant
writing and strong computer proficiency are also necessary. Interest in and knowledge
of the not-for-profit arts sector, particularly orchestral music, is an asset.
Salary: 22,000 to 24,000

The Niagara Symphony Association in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada is pleased to
invite applications for the position of Education & Outreach Coordinator.
The Niagara Symphony Association (NSO) supports one of the oldest orchestras and
music education summer camps in the Province of Ontario. Incorporated in 1948, the
Symphony recently celebrated its 70th anniversary and is a 52 member fully professional
per service orchestra with 50% of the musicians residing in the Niagara Region. The
regular concert season is held in the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, a new hall
which opened in 2015 in downtown St. Catharines. Programming is traditionally
comprised of seven Masterworks and four POPS! concerts plus a three-concert Family
Series. Notably, the NSO has reached a new level of artistic excellence since moving to
the new hall, showcasing challenging repertoire and introducing new Canadian guest
artists to Niagara audiences. The subscription base has doubled, with attendance
nearing 80 % capacity and the orchestra operates a comprehensive series of outreach
