Job Description / Duties

The City of Airdrie is seeking two (2) part-time/casual Customer Service Representatives at the Bert Church Live Theatre to support the box office, front of house and all scheduled productions. The Bert Church LIVE Theatre season runs from September to June, and includes the presenting series, special events, educational theatre programming and third-party rentals during those months. Occasional events may also occur during July and August where staffing is required.

THE OPPORTUNITY
• Sell tickets, season passes and gift certificates
• Provide exceptional front line customer service for all residents, patrons and clients
• Cash handling, including cash outs and till balancing
• Update client records and data entry
• Open and close the facility
• Assist with monitoring area usage
• Assist with facility set-ups and take-downs
• Administrative duties as assigned
• Deal with customer questions, feedback and concerns
• Communicate with internal departments and external customers
• Record and file event outcomes in the front of house reports
• Phone calls and e-mail correspondence with patrons
• Execute facility client walkthroughs before and after each event
• Light janitorial duties, including refilling supplies during events
• Lead or assist in all facility emergencies, including evacuations and be willing and able to perform CPR
• Maintain professional and friendly relationships with internal and external customers
• Support all co-workers on a daily basis

Qualifications / Required Skills

YOU BRING
• Previous customer service experience
• Previous experience in theatre and events would be considered an asset
• Experience and comfort with computer software programs is required for this position, including experience with Microsoft Office
• Minimum 6 months of ticket software and ticket selling experience would be considered an asset
• Cash handling experience
• Current Standard First Aid – Level C CPR and AED certification
• Proven ability to provide exceptional patron service
• Ability to demonstrate maturity and responsibility
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment
• Adapt well in an every changing and diverse environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to take initiative
• Self-directed and self-motivated
• Ability to provide guidance to others when required
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
• Daytime (weekdays and weekend) availability would be considered an asset

ADDITIONAL
This is a part-time, casual position. The need is for evenings, weekends and holidays. The shifts are typically 5-8 hours in length. Candidates may be asked to perform physically demanding tasks, such as helping with room set up and light janitorial duties.

Salary: $19.82 - $24.77
