DANC 1271 3.0 W Dance Production
Prepare and deliver lectures on dance production (in consideration of sustainable practice), safety standards, and procedures; oversee and coordinate Teaching Assistant-taught labs in costuming, sound, lighting; oversee assignment and grading of 'shadow' crew hours in Dance Department productions. Submit final grades in April. Maintain regular office hours.
MFA or professional equivalent, demonstrated experience in production management and lighting design at the professional level. Minimum of 2 years post-secondary teaching experience. Ability to lecture to large groups on theatre safety and protocol and to oversee lab groups on subjects such as lighting, rigging, sound, and costuming.
Must be familiar with `Professional Working Practice' and `Industry Safety Standards' - in particular, the Safety Guidelines for the Live Performance Industry in Ontario as set out by the Ontario Ministry of Labour.
Preference will be given to applicants with new media, and digital technology experience, particularly with regard to online teaching modalities (i.e., Moodle).
Salary: As per current CUPE Collective Agreement
