Community Theatre Manager (Six Month Term)
The Show Must Go On!
The City is casting for a temporary Community Theatre Manager to oversee the theatre operations for a six-month term assignment.
Reporting within the Active Living & Culture Division, the Community Theatre Manager is responsible for the theatre operations and facility which includes working with clients, community groups, staff and volunteers to deliver entertainment productions and community events in accordance with City policies, objectives and community needs.
The successful candidate will be a proven manager, with applicable post-secondary education and several years of related experience. With your excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills, you will quickly learn the theatre operations and requirements, build stakeholder relationships, and provide supervision and support to a small team of experienced and dedicated staff.
The position offers a wage rate of $34.00 per/hour + 14% in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and other paid leaves, premiums and fringe benefits.

Knowledge: Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in theatre management or equivalent training, plus 5 years of experience in performance venue management.
Skills & Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience with preparation of formal reports and grant applications. Ability to negotiate effectively. Tact and diplomacy in dealing with clients and the public. Training and experience with theatre booking software such as ‘Artifax’ is preferred.
