Job Description / Duties

ABOUT THE POSITION:
Stratford Summer Music is looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our team as Artist Services Coordinator! The successful candidate will be motivated and enjoy working in a collaborative environment. Summer Music offers a fast-paced setting where no two days are alike, and the locations are constantly changing. Hours are flexible but you must be available to work evenings and most weekends during the summer.

Duties include welcoming artists, arranging their accommodations and ensuring hospitality needs are met, liaising with the production department to arrange rehearsal, necessary materials, and backstage organization. The successful candidate must have a sound knowledge of Stratford and area.

Preference will be given to individuals who have previous artist administration and coordination experience. A background in arts administration is a strong asset, but not necessary. This position will draw on your coordination, time management, and interpersonal skills. Most importantly, the ability to learn on your feet and adapt quickly to changes will be qualities successful applicants will

Knowledge of Stratford area is considered an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Itemizing and consolidating contracts and publicity media.
 Welcoming artists, organizing accommodations, and ensuring hospitality needs are met.
 Liaising with the production department to establish technical requirements, arrange
rehearsals, and manage backstage activities.
 Coordinating websites, and program information; creating digital program decks for
projects.
 Assisting in the set-up of shows alongside production and front of house teams as
needed.
 Gathering details of performance repertoires and submitting for SOCAN purposes.
 Organizing sponsor welcome and industry events with the team.
 Capturing photos, contribute social media content and upkeep in collaboration with the
Marketing Consultant.
 Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications / Required Skills

 Demonstrated one-year experience in artist administration and coordination experience.
 Deeply passionate about the arts and dedicated to client engagement.
 Exceptional communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills essential for collaborating with individuals across all organizational levels, arts and cultural partners, and rental clients. Fosters open and confidential communication,
building trust.
 Result-driven and proactive with strong multitasking abilities, adept at prioritization, and capable of working independently.
 Sociable and adept at quickly establishing rapport with new acquaintances.
 Possession of a valid Ontario driver’s license or equivalent mobility documentation is required.
 Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours.
 Legally eligible to work in Canada; non-Canadian applicants must possess a valid employment visa and proper documentation permitting work in Canada for the contract's entirety.
 Must be eligible for employment under Canada Summer Jobs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Salary: $22.50/hour with 35 hours a week for 8 weeks
