  Barns Project Vision --\n\nTour\n\nJoin Crystal Bueckert, owner and lea
 d designer at the design firm Bldg Studio Inc., for a tour of the histor
 ic Caswell Bus Barns building. Learn more about the exciting transformat
 ion of this space into a vibrant new arts and theater facility.\n\nThe a
 daptive re-use mixed use project aims to transform an existing structure
  into a vibrant and dynamic arts and cultural hub that fosters artistic 
 creativity, community engagement, and economic vitality. The project see
 ks to create a synergy between various artistic disciplines, providing a
  space for artists to work, exhibit, and perform while inviting the publ
 ic to engage with and appreciate art. This presentation will explore the
  challenges of adaptive re-use buildings, rezoning, and government fundi
 ng as it relates to non-profit arts organizations and the pursuit of own
 ership and stability.\n\nThe tour will last 30-45 minutes and the presen
 tation will last 30 minutes followed by a Q&A.\nMeet in front of the Per
 sephone Theatre at 14:30 to walk as a group to the location.\nMaximum nu
 mber of participants: 15\n\nContext:\nCBB Ltd has acquired the former S
 askatoon Transit Building at 321 Avenue C North from the City of Saskato
 on. The aim is to curate a community of creative agencies that will giv
 e rise to Saskatoon’s premiere Creative Hub. The Caswell Bus Barns wil
 l support a sustainable and stable arts community in a vibrant mixed-use
  heritage property within the established neighbourhood of Caswell Hill,

 g residential and commercial interior design studio focused on sustainab
 le construction and efficient design. Established in 2011 and headed by 
 designer Crystal Bueckert, Bldg Studio's mission is to lead in residenti
 al design and drafting standards through the creation of modern, sustain
 able design concepts and construction drawings. Our strategic focus on s
 ustainable building practices and infill projects has served a niche mar

 owing regarding this tour:\n\n- The Caswell Bus Barns is an empty buildi
 ng with no bathrooms and it is dirty, so please dress accordingly. \n- I
 t is about a 22 minute walk from the Persephone Theatre to the Caswell B
 us Barns.\n- It is about a 2 minute walk from the Caswell Bus Barns to t
 he studio for the presentation (one block north of the tour).\n\n- The s

 he design firm Bldg Studio Inc., co-owner at the development company Bld
 g Lab Inc and co-owner of CBB Ltd, the Caswell Bus Barns adaptive reuse 
 project in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Crystal has a background in fine art
 s and construction. After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree fr
 om the University of Saskatchewan she worked in the gallery and museum i
 ndustry in Toronto. In 2005 she moved back to Saskatchewan to study Arch
 itectural Technology and is now a registered Interior Designer. Her inte
 rest in arts-based community social projects has lead to the purchase of
  the old Saskatoon Transit Buildings in Saskatoon which will be develope
 d as an arts and culture hub\n
