  shows that severe weather can disrupt even the best-laid plans. When it
  does, the results can be physically and financially catastrophic.\n\nCo
 ntinuing with our mission to provide the event industry with relevant & 
 practical learning opportunities, Event Safety Alliance is excited to an
 nounce the return of the Severe Weather Summit, March 21-22, 2019.\n\nTh
 e Severe Weather Summit is designed to aid event and venue professionals
  of all types in preparing for and responding to dangerous weather condi
 tions. Over the course of two days at the National Weather Center’s St
 orm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, subject matter experts from N
 OAA and the National Weather Service will explore topics including:\n\n*
  Severe weather phenomena that can threaten all types of events and faci
 lities;\n\n* Why playing “amateur meteorologist” can be dangerous;\n
 \n* Public and private-sector resources that can assist in weather prepa
 redness;\n\n* Technologies that can provide advanced warning of threaten
 ing weather; and\n\n* How to develop a relevant and actionable severe w
 eather plan.\n\n Registration for this year’s Severe Weather Summit i
 s just $349 for ESA members, and $449 for non-members, and includes comp
 limentary breakfast*, lunch at the Storm Prediction Center, and a hard c
 opy edition of The Event Safety Guide. Those attending the 2018 Event Sa
 fety Summit are eligible for a $100 registration discount regardless of 
 membership status.\n\nUnderstanding severe weather is a science all to i
 tself. The Severe Weather Summit will provide attendees with the knowled
 ge necessary to identify and prepare for potential threats, and how to u
 se existing technology and expertise in order to safely handle a severe
