WATCHOUT multi-display software is your fast track to creating spectacular shows.
Use WATCHOUT to compose and manage all the different media elements in your show – video, still images, animations, graphics, live streams, sound, and lighting – and then play it back on multiple displays. Perfectly synchronized, high resolution and right-on-cue.
You'll find WATCHOUT in action behind the scenes at live events, projection mapping, in broadcast studios, museums, show rooms, visitor attractions, cruise ships, houses of worship and experience centers. In other words – just about any market or application where you want multiple display devices and maximum impact.

Course Description
This Dataton Academy Training focuses on WATCHOUT version 7, released in 2024. The two-day class is appropriate for beginners to the WATCHOUT multi-display show composer system, as well as current users looking to explore new features in WATCHOUT 7.
The training covers basic and more advanced topics and is designed to give attendees a clear understanding of WATCHOUT – its strengths, key features, applications, and possibilities. In this hands-on class, you will be able to hone previous skills while learning new ones, workflow solutions, and common trouble-shooting practices.
WATCHOUT is FREE to download so each person can obtain it before the training. Show Sage will provide the license keys that open up the software for display so attendees can output to the mini projectors on each table.

Course Tech Requirements
Student must provide a laptop with the latest version of WATCHOUT installed. The computer running the Producer software should have the following minimum system requirements.
WATCHOUT 7 is a 64 bit application.
Your laptop PC should be a contemporary model with the latest graphics driver and the latest version of Windows WebView2 installed. GPU required API is Vulkan 1.3. It should also have a USB A-port and WATCHOUT installed. As this training focuses on WATCHOUT 7, the laptop should be running Windows 10 or 11 and have the latest WATCHOUT version 7 release installed.
You must be able to connect your laptop to ethernet, so remember to bring an adapter if needed. In addition, you must be able to disable your firewall, and a mouse can be handy for the hands-on exercises.
Mac: WATCHOUT does not run natively on Mac computers. Mac users must install Boot Camp or Parallels to run Windows and use WATCHOUT.

Instructor
Alex Gendal, WATCHOUT Specialist, Show Sage
Alex is a Chicago-based lighting and projection designer who has worked professionally since 2019 with experience in live theatre and corporate AV events. He graduated from Purchase College with a BFA in Theatre Design/Technology with a lighting design concentration, and from The University of Texas at Austin with an MFA in Integrated Media for Live Performance. He was nominated for Jeff Awards in 2019 and 2023 for Best Projection Design and continues to work in the field.
As the WATCHOUT Specialist at Show Sage, he is dedicated to working with customers to find the best fitting solution for their media server needs and is eager to find solutions for any video project. He is enthusiastic to teach others the software tips and tricks he's learned in the field and continues learning from customers' experiences. Alex is committed to ensuring each customer has the knowledge and understanding to learn and utilize WATCHOUT to the best of their ability for every kind of event!
