13:08:46 From Monique Corbeil CITT/ICTS to Everyone: Québec 13:12:34 From Paul (he/him) Fujimoto-Pihl to Everyone (in Waiting Room): don't know, sorry! 13:16:14 From Phil Schulze to Everyone: The wildfires are really bad. Smoke n the air in Vancouver. City of Merritt, Kamloops, Kelowna with evacuations, Hwy 97 Couqihalla closed for fires burning on both sides of the road. The Okanagon is in bad shape. 13:16:50 From Sarah Blanchard to Everyone: I can’t stay. Because I’m currently in rehearsal (yay! And just heading back from lunch). In case no one else here from NS, we are open. Several shows open with audiences, still in phase 4 so restrictions on house size, masks required. We are nearing our provincial target for double vaccination so could be a change coming in Sept after our election is done (today is Election Day). I’m working at a theatre where we are doing rapid screening twice weekly on staff including foh/volunteer ushers. Some fall shows across the province are being tentative with releasing their ticket sales but are starting to announce their season (including neptune yesterday). Other live events have taken the summer to prerecord some content to be released during their regularly scheduled fall festivals in the event things have to be virtual only ( currently planning hybrid events like celtic colours music festival). All in cautious but good. We will see what the fall brings. 13:22:53 From Phil Schulze to Everyone: Live Nation to Require Vaccination or Negative Test at All Venues, Festivals Guidelines go in effect on October 4th, the same date all of concert giant’s employees must be vaccinated. 13:23:12 From Phil Schulze to Everyone: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/live-nation-updates-covid-19-vaccination-negative-test-1212323/ 13:25:54 From Phil Schulze to Everyone: Rumours of concerts / EDM shows in Aug. & Sept. however not announced to the public, no ticket sales etc. Interesting how they are waiting to see what happens. 13:30:02 From Janet Sellery (she/her) to Everyone: Dr. Kieran Moore (Ontario MOH) is doing a live announcement: employers in education and some health care settings will need to develop vaccination policies to require vaccines or be subject to regular tests. 13:33:48 From Monique Corbeil CITT/ICTS to Everyone: Specifically, the Liberals will extend the CEWS, CERS, and Canada Recovery Hiring Program well into 2022 and, introduce a dedicated matching program to address revenue loss for cultural venues. The program will match revenue coming from the sale of tickets for venues that are subject to capacity restrictions due to measures imposed by local health authorities until May, 2022. Eligible venues will include grassroots live music venues, performing arts venues, and others. The matching program will help to support workers in the industry, including contractors. 13:33:59 From Janet Sellery (she/her) to Everyone: In Ontario, poster shots will be offered to certain vulnerable populations and vaccine eligibility will be extended to 11 year olds who are turning 12 this year. 13:34:04 From Monique Corbeil CITT/ICTS to Everyone: https://liberal.ca/liberals-move-forward-with-more-support-for-hard-hit-businesses/ 13:34:09 From Janet Sellery (she/her) to Everyone: Not poster - booster. 13:34:44 From Monique Corbeil CITT/ICTS to Everyone: FYI: The Canadian Live Music Association (CLMA) expresses its sincere thanks to the Government of Canada and Minister of Canadian Heritage Steven Guilbeault for today’s announcement regarding the rollout of $50M in new COVID-19-related funding to support the live music sector. FACTOR and Musicaction will be launching this new support for the live music sector in the coming days. 13:35:02 From Monique Corbeil CITT/ICTS to Everyone: https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/news/2021/08/government-of-canada-investments-of-70-million-to-support-canadas-artists-and-live-music-sector.html 13:37:12 From Phil Schulze to Everyone: Thx Monique 13:37:57 From Tammy Faulkner to Everyone: We are working towards training more casual crew and creating alternate head positions to help with this. We lost a number of casual crew lately so we need options. Trying to achieve more work life balance for the crew 13:38:58 From Janet Martel to Everyone: Like Tammy, we are also working towards creating a bigger pool of people to draw from. 13:39:36 From Tammy Faulkner to Everyone: or win the lottery!! 13:39:41 From Brad G. Graham to Everyone: I know much of the work forums I’ve been a part of are saying “SMs shouldnt be Covid compliance” but is that same statement being made in management groups like PACT? 13:41:58 From Janet Martel to Everyone: Thank you for that WSIB info. 13:45:23 From Phil Schulze to Everyone: Tammy, I understand the crew shortage, myself with the reduction in CRB payment and lack of work, I am seeking work out of the industry, now more than ever 13:46:32 From Tammy Faulkner to Everyone: We did talk about that too Phil. Luckily a lot of folks have moved "back home" so we've actually had some good luck getting some pretty experienced folks to add to our team! 13:50:22 From Brad G. Graham to Everyone: We were doing similar things to what Tammy describs in November 2020 before the province locked it up. 13:51:30 From Brad G.
