Job Description / Duties

The Arts Club Theatre Company is currently accepting applications for the position of Theatre Rental Technician. Reporting to the Venue Rental Manager and Technical Director, this position oversees the strike, hang and focus sessions and running crew for venue rentals and occasional productions.

This is a Part-Time Regular position under the I.A.T.S.E. 118 collective agreement; employment will be as required, depending on the specific demands of respective productions. Hours of work will be scheduled as needed. Occasional weekends, early mornings and evening hours may be required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Including, but not limited to:
•Lighting, sound, video and stage carpentry setup and operation
•Lighting and sound maintenance
•Supervision on strikes, hangs and focus sessions
•Assist in the maintenance of Arts Club Theatre buildings
•Liaise with rental clients as requested to assess technical requirements
•Assist in the pre-set and tear down of Arts Club productions
•Running crew of rentals and occasionally Arts Club productions

Qualifications / Required Skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
•Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in professional technical theatre
•LPEC certificate
•Proficiency with an ION lighting board is desired
•LE (Limited Entertainment) Certificate is desired
•Experience with Windows and Apple computer operating system and computer networking is desired
•Class 5 driver’s license is desired

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
•Proficiency in programming and operation of computer and manual lighting boards
•Maintenance of sound equipment for both recorded and live purposes
•Experience with sound recording and video projection
•Proficiency in programming and operating QLab
•Heavy lifting will be required
•Excellent communication skills both in person and in writing
•Ability to respond to employer and client requests promptly

Salary: Salary: $24.91 per hour
